Nars Sheer Glow Foundation

Hi everyone!!!

I HAVE FINALLY BOUGHT THE NARS SHEER GLOW FOUNDATION. I've been wanting it since like 2012 maybe but Nars wasn't sold in Singapore. When it finally came I was quite broke la to be honest so I waited awhile to get it because I had recently bought other foundations and like it's quite ridiculous la who even needs so many foundations. But anyways I got it cause I wanted a new foundation for my birthday.

The cap doesn't fit properly after you open it. Like the cap doesn't align with the bottle when it's screwed tight. It's not only my bottle though because I've checked with others.

Foundation also doesn't come with a pump which is quite ridiculous to be honest because you're paying freaking 72 SGD for this foundation. It holds the usual 30ml of product.
The pump costs 10SGD and I bought it because I have OCD. If you're fine with pouring the foundation out from the bottle straight then don't buy it cause 10 bucks for a pump is quite ridiculous. Also, the pump doesn't even have a cover.... but it has a lock so you don't have to worry about pressing the pump accidentally.

This foundation has no SPF so it means that there won't be any flash back when taking pictures with flash which also means this foundation is good for night because you would probably need to use a flash when taking pictures at night and you won't have a ghost face.
The consistency of the foundation is not thick but it's not runny either in my opinion. Its not as light as a tinted moisturiser but it's not as heavy as other foundations I've tried. You can feel that you're wearing foundation but it's not the suffocating kind of feel. I hope it makes sense. Basically, it wear comfortably.

The colour rage is amazing! They have like ten million shades so you will probably be able to get a shade for yourself. They also run quite yellow which is good for Asian skin. I have really yellow/golden undertones and the Nars base products seem to suit me really well. I have the colour Fiji if anyone needs a reference. I'm in between Mac NC20 and NC25.
the colour matches me very well. When you first apply it it MAY seem a little light but after it settles for like 10 mins it should match fine. I also noticed that this foundation doesn't oxidise which is a plus. Ain't nobody got time for your face to become orange at the end of the day.
The foundation also photographs nicely :)

Coverage wise, it's medium buildable. I have tried it with a stippling brush, my fingers and a Beauty Blender. Using a brush gives a higher coverage compared to the Beauty Blender. It evens out my skintone fine but because I use a light layer, some of my dark acne scars can still be seen.
Using fingers to blend the product helps it melt into the skin because of the warmth. The coverage is slightly higher than a beauty blender in my opinion.
This foundation sets to a dewy finish. Not matte at all. Please bear in mind I have combination skin.
It transfers a little when I dab my face with a tissue so you must make sure to set it with powder. It gives off a really nice finish but for my skin, especially in Singapore with the humidity, I had to blot like once or twice during the day which is normal. It doesn't control oil very well. It doesn't claim to anyways so it's fine to me.

All in all, I really like this foundation because the colour is really perfect for me. It's so hard finding a foundation match for my skin like I've mentioned before and I really love the Nars colour range.
Coverage wise is alright for me.
Side note: I feel like this foundation works better for me when my skin is not blemished and spotty. So I would say for it to work perfectly, you would need to have good skin already.

I could also be a little bias la because Nars is one of my favourite make up brands HAHA but this foundation in my opinion would be suitable for dry, normal or combination skin. For those with oily skin it might work if you set with a good powder. Even if you're not oily I would suggest setting it with powder anyways.

Hope this review was helpful!!

Mane & Tail Shampoo

Hello!
Gonna talk about shampoo today~
About a month ago I was desperately looking for way to make my hair grow faster for my birthday party and I saw a lot of people talking about the Mane & Tail shampoo that's actually meant for horses but can be used by humans too. Since I've been considering this shampoo for awhile before already I decided to just get it. It has been almost a full month and I just feel like reviewing the shampoo.

In all honesty, I didn't really notice like a drastic difference in the length of my hair. My hair grows quite fast naturally but somehow over the past couple of months it seems to have stopped growing for some reason or maybe it's just me. Anyways, even though I didn't notice a difference in the length of my hair, I did notice a difference in the volume. I also have naturally thick hair. But like I can actually see and feel the difference in the volume after using the shampoo. About a week of using the shampoo my mother suddenly asked me 'Why your hair so thick suddenly?' and I was like 'it's always thick what' then she said 'no it's even thicker now'. I don't know why I felt the need to share that conversation la but the main point is that she's not the kind of person to notice these things so for her to notice it kinda shows something~ My hair is really like thicker and fuller now. I also feel like it doesn't drop or break as much ( hair breakage was a problem was me..)
The scent is quite pleasant too. I expected it to smell like my dog's shampoo but it really doesn't and the smell is quite nice. It doesn't linger anyways. I usually use a treatment or a good conditioner after using the shampoo though because my hair is quite dry by nature.

I would repurchase this shampoo because it cleans my hair well without stripping it of the oils. I feel like it strengthens my hair too!!! So yes yes yes definite repurchase.

I can't really remember the price of this but it ranges from $12.90-$14.90 depending on where you get it from! It's more expensive at Guardian though~

Hope this helps someone who wants thicker hair or more volume 😄

Revlon Lip Butters

Hihi~ feeling kinda bored so I figured why not talk about my favourite lip product of all time.

I absolutely love love love the Revlon Lip Butters. There is absolutely NOTHING I dislike about them. They just wear so comfortably on the lips and like omg I just love them. They are not intense like lip sticks obviously but the colour payoff is just nice for me. I only have 4 colours but I'm planning to get more of course. I've had my first one for about a year now and it's still as good like it didn't turn bad or anything.
The smell is nice too. I don't really know how to describe the scent but it's kinda and light. It doesn't have any taste tho. ( plus point in my opinion!)
The lip butters also wear nicely. Meaning they don't leave the white residue on your lips that some glosses do. If I use a lip balm under these the colour will be sheerer and if I just go straight on my lips it will be slighter more intense but still not as strong as a lipstick. They have a nice sheen and are not too glossy or sticky.
Good for people who are just starting out with lip products! This was the first 'lipstick/lip butter' I ever used.

Watson's is currently having a promotion now if I'm not wrong and they are only 9.90SGD each?!?!! Must hurry buy HAHA

Candy Apple

A nice sheer red with no shimmer. I don't think they have this shade in Singapore tho :( Cherry Tart would be the closest to this but that has shimmer.

Tutti Frutti

The first one I purchased and never in my life would I have thought I could wear an orange lip but this is like a sheer tint of orange and it's so flattering!!

Juicy Papaya

Also not sure if this shade is in Singapore yet but it's like a creamy peachy pink colour. Love. It's a little broken HAHA

Berry Smoothie

I literally just purchased this a few days ago. Its the only one out of the 4 I have that has shimmer. But it doesn't seem to show up on my lips. The shimmer was what made me so hesitant to buy it in the first place. It's a nice sheer berry pink.

*one thing I've noticed is that the 2 I got from the states have melted a little. It's nothing serious but you can see the the consistency is a little different somehow. Like as if they ones I bought locally are 'harder'. I'm not sure if it's because of the weather there and here or whether they're formulated differently or what. They're still very useable and they don't wear differently. Its just that they seem to be creamier.
Candy Apple & Juicy Papaya vs Tutti Frutti & Berry Smoothie

That's all for today!

Current Favourites/Obsessions- Skincare, Nails, Haircare, Make Up

Feeling kinda restless so I decided to just sit here and talk about some products I've been loving recently! :)

Skincare
Please keep in mind that whatever works for me may not work for everyone and likewise, whatever may work for majority might not work for me :)

#1 St Ive's Facial Scrub-  Blemish Prone Skin

My wall is not dirty okay that's just the design of the tile hahaha

I've always been a fan of the St Ive's apricot scrubs. They are a little harsher than some other physical scrubs but I feel like they're still gentle enough to be used everyday. This is the first time I've tried the one for blemish prone skin and omg I seriously love this scrub. I don't think I'll go back to using the other scrubs anymore. This product contains salicylic acid, which is good for acne, and I think that's why I love it so much. Flo told me that she read somewhere that this can be used as a mask as well because of the SA. What I usually do is use it when I feel like I've got a lot of dead skin or when my skin is super dry (this doesn't dry out your skin AT ALL) I will use it then leave it on my face and wash my body or whatever then come back and rinse it off. I've seen an improvement in my skin ever since I've used this product and maybe also because I haven't been eating so much junk food la but I'm sure this product played a part too. My skin just feel so soft after using this and I will usually use this at night then use my Laneige water pack before bed or I use this in the morning when my skin is looking dull or I haven't had much sleep or was having an emotional night. This scrub really makes my skin look a lot fresher and clearer :)
LAAAAV IT!
Really recommend this product to everyone!!

#2 Oxy10

My mum cut it cause it was running low HAHAHA

I've never really liked this product because I feel like it dries my skin but omg I've been using this for any spots because it's in my bathroom cause my mum uses it and I'm too lazy to go to my room to get my spot treatments. This really dries out a pimple and it's really damn good (Y) But it's super drying so try not to use it so often!
What I do is put this on any spots before I sleep and use it for a few days consecutively then when the spot start to clear I stop because it can really make my skin feel tight and dry.

#3 Boscia Make-Up Break Up Cool Cleansing Oil

This make up remover is really bomb.com. I use like one pump every time to remove my make up unless I'm using a super stay foundation like the Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous foundation. Then I might use 1.5/2 pumps depending on my mood HAHA This oil feels damn damn damn nice on the skin like seriously. It's not like the Shu Uemura dry oils, this is more like an oil-gel formula to me and it just feels damn soft and nice on the skin and I usually get carried away and end up massaging my face for like 2 minutes just cause. HAHA but I don't think it does anything bad to my skin so it's fine :p
Anyways, this feels really nice on the skin and like it has this slight cooling sensation. I don't use this for my eye make up tho because the cooling sensation is a bit too much for my sensitive eyes!

#4 Garnier Clean Sensitive Eye & Face Make Up Remover full review here

I've talked about this before and this is truly my HG eye make up remover. This seriously removes ALL WATERPROOF MASCARA okay. Like the next morning I won't have the residue kind. This is really ddaaaammmnnnnn good and everyone should try it and it's for sensitive eyes some more. This doesn't sting my eyes at all!!! Actually it does la sometimes when I'm like damn careless and anyhow just rub my eyes and a lot of product enters my eyes HAHA but it doesn't burn or what it's just a little uncomfortable but when I wipe my eye it's okay alr. This is really damn good I can't even say anymore about it you just need to try it for yourself.
What I do shake it really violently to mix the oil and water thing and then quickly squirt it on a cotton pad cause it separates quite fast. Then I just hold the pad on my eye for like a few seconds and just wipe the make up off. I don't even need rub unless like I said I'm just careless and anyhow removing cause I'm damn over it but if I do it normally it removes easily :) This is the only thing which can take of the super stay mascara (I'll talk about this later) and omg it's really damn good la I don't know what else to say hahahah

Nails
#1 O.P.I Nail Envy

Recommended by Flo who uses the original formula most of the time. I use the one for thin nails (pink words) and this is really damn good and my nails hard ever chip or tear anymore!!! Amazeballs.

#2 Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

BEST.TOP.COAT.EVER.
No streak, no dents, no bed sheet prints.
Dries so so so fast ( realistically fast la like maybe 3 minutes max)
Gives your nails this gel like look. Will never use any other top coat and I have used bottleS already.

#3 Innisfree Pro Nail Colours

Cheap and Good. Wide brush. Lasts relatively long. Only 4SGD.
Super love

#4 Etude House Nail Polish

Just like the Innisfree ones. I prefer the brush of this a little more tho. 3.90SGD. Seriously nothing to hate :D

Hair
#1 Herbal Essence Shampoo & Conditioner

my HG. I must always have this shampoo in my bathroom cause it just works well for me and it doesn't give me any scalp problems. If I do try out other shampoos and they cause like itching or dry scalp, I always go back to this and my scalp will be okay. So cheap some more. And it smells amazing. If you like coconuts hehe been using this for years and I don't think I'll ever stop. OH OH OH BUT you must make sure it's not made in China cause the one that's made in China made my scalp super itchy. I don't know why~ the one I use is from Thailand :)

#2 L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil

This is just a good oil. It doesn't leave your hair sticky, oily or anything and it just makes my hair so soft I lav it. I usually use it on like towel dried hair and then after I blow dry I will use a bit more. I always go crazy and pump a lot when I use it just cause and it doesn't make my hair oily or whatever :)

This post is really long so I'll just do my make up favorites in the next post!! :)

Have a good mid week!!!

Lots of love,
Alexandria

Make up for school

Hiiiii! It's been a suuuuuper long while since I've blogged here.. My mac was corrupted and blogging on the iMac is just no so I decided to take some time off.. HAHA Don't really know what to blog about also because I haven't been shopping for make up much ever since I quit my previous job~~ BUUUTTTT I've got a new job so I guess I can start buying make up again soon :D *squeals*

Can't decide if I should blog about make up I wear to school or my current favourites... hmm..

I think I'll just talk about the make up I use for school yas since I use the products that I'm currently in love with anyways~

Okay so as I mentioned in like.. April I think.. I've stopped wearing foundation regularly. I only use foundation when I club or like when its a special occasion. omg maybe I should do my clubbing make up??? omg kk next post.

Anw, so because I was having some dry skin issues in the beginning half of the year, I was on the search for a new foundation that wasn't gonna be drying. Then I stumbled across the Nars Tinted Moisturiser. I have never own a TM before and I was quite hesitant because I haven't heard anything (at that time) bout this tm. The ones that are usually talked about are usually like the Laura Mercier one so I started doing some research about it and it actually had good reviews!
So since I love Nars, I just decided to give it a try. I wasn't sure what to expect.. I didn't know whether it was gonna be like a bb cream~ cause bb creams clog my pores so I don't use them although I looooove the Garnier bb cream sigh.
I used it for the first time and fell in love straight away. Like its so moisturizing and like it was really damn good for my skin at that time because my skin was really dry like mad. There were days where I would powder and days where I don't. This product transfers though because it's not a foundation. Its doesn't set to a matte or powder finish. It FEELS like a heavy moisturizer in my opinion. It doesn't provide much coverage. It has a very strong yellow tint so it is super good for my uneven skin tone. I have a lot of redness around my cheek and nose area and the sides of my nose are like purple HAHA so this just evens it out, not perfectly, but to a naturally evened tone.  It doesn't cover blemishes very well too, but I don't mind because that's honestly not my concern because I don't normally conceal pimples and all because I just can't be bothered hahaha so yeah I have been using this on a daily (whenever I use make up) basis and it's fine for me :)
I would also just powder it with any powder I'm feeling for that day~ It's either the Rimmel Stay Matte (it doesn't really keep me matte tho) or the Sephora Mattifying powder compact ( I NEVER REALISED HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS UNTIL I REALISE IT'S ALMOST GONE!)

I usually just use a bit of bronzer on my cheeks with some blush. I busted out my body shop bronzer that I bought in like... 2011 HAHAHA yeah I love it cause it gives me like a bronzed look without any shimmer and its not muddy. I would say that it's a bit on the orange side but it's okay for me cause of my yellow/golden/olive (i'm still unsure cause no one can figure it out) undertone. Recently bought a Catrice blush though and it's a brownish color and I've been really liking it too! So cheap some more!  LAAAVVV IT!

I usually use either my Nars blushes or the Tarte or The Balm ones depending on my mood HAHA but it's usually one of the 4.

HATE THE STUPID NARS PACKAGING IT GETS SO DIRTY. but it looks nice nice :')

My eye make up for school honestly varies, but on most days I would just use my Nars eye primer +  Mac painterly paint pot or like a skin tone eye shadow all over my lids and maybe a slightly slightly dark color to define my crease. The only reason I do this is because my eye lids are very dark and like if I don't conceal it I just look dead. So I do that and I use mascara and that's basically it for most days. Unless I'm feeling fancy and decided to use any eye shadow I'm feeling that day.

Step 1

Step 2
This is very old but it never runs out!!
I think they changed all the formulas to Prolongwear for their paint pots tho, they last a lot longer imo :)

Step 1: SUPER WATER+ BUDGE PROOF (Y)

Step 2: Any 1 of these, sometimes skip step 2 and just use the Heroine Make!

My brows never change. I always use my Catrice eyebrow kit thing cause the colors match my brows perfectly :> and it was so affordable also like only 7SGD+ I think?! love good cheap make up

My lips would usually just be a tinted lip balm or a lip liner all over with a bit of lipstick or gloss.

So yup that's usually my make up I wear whenever I wear make up nowadays.

Think I might do a clubbing make up tutorial post soon cause it's important to use make up that is budge proof because of the sweating and dancing all in clubs hahahahahah

Okay that's all for now :)

Lots of love,
Alexandria

Catrice Longlasting eye pencil, waterproof

This eye liner was recommended to me by my friends at TVP and I decided to give it ago. I bought the grey, gun metal kind of colour called 'The World's Greytest, 020'. After falling in love with it I purchased the brown on called ' Brown Town Girl 050'. This eye liner is like 3.90 SGD but it's really quite amazing.
It doesn't smudge and it's really long lasting. I am able to wear this on my upper and lower waterlines for the whole day without any smudging ( I have oily eye lids). It's currently my favourite eye liner. It's drugstore but it's so amazing.
I find the grey one to be softer and easier to work with for the upper lash line compared to the brown. The brown can be a little dry but I think it's just because of the colour. There have quite a few colours and the bright colours stay on for the whole day as well! Normally shimmery and bright coloured eye liners tend to wear off but this eye liner is really the bomb.com. I swatched the newer colours on my hand that day and they stayed all the way till night. I couldn't even wash it off with soap and water.
I would definitely repurchase this and I am gonna get a few more colours the next time I go to Guardian Plus!
Catrice can be found at most Guardian Plus outlets. ☺

Review: GLAMGLOW Supermud Clearing Treatment

Hey hi hello!
I'm back for another review~

I bought this mask like in the beginning of March. I've been seeing it being raved about everywhere like on youtube and all and I was waiting for it to come to Singapore. When it finally did I went to get it. ( After awhile la cause I'm broke 24/7)
THIS MASK IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE MASK I HAVE EVER PURCHASE YET. Like seriously it's 92 SGD for 34g??? Crazy expensive. I was really really praying that I would like it and that it would help my skin because I was getting like spots and all from stress and hormones (Zzz)

So at first, I used it as a treatment mask. I've only used it like about 5/6 times so far. Anyways, the first 5 times I used it I used it only in my problem areas like a small patch on my cheek, my nose and my chin. I honestly did not see much difference in my skin although maybe my blackheads looked smaller and some were gone. But it wasn't a huge difference. I then tried using it over my whole face and there still wasn't a huge difference. Maybe slightly clearer but not enough to justify the price.

It doesn't sting my face badly so that's a plus and it washes off easily as well.

I was super upset because I felt like I had wasted 90 bucks. Do you know how much make up I could have bought...... sigh. ☹

SIDE NOTE: the packaging said that if you use it for your whole face you can use it about 12 times and if you use it as spot treatments you can use it 1000 times. I paid 92 bucks for a mask that is only enough for 12 uses.. I swear it's really damn expensive and I'm the type of girl who wouldn't mind spending money on skincare. So for me to say that kinda shows something.
I left it alone for like a month and I just decided to use it again.

Conclusion:
I'm honestly still unsure about how I feel about this mask. I feel like the results are not enough to make me want to repurchase. You can only see a small difference and it's not like it's that amazing at treating spots in my opinion. Maybe it just doesn't work for me.
The origins mask I just blogged about is more beneficial for me. ☺
